My two man foxhole

I actually dug one.  And it is drained, too. I guess that is how worried I am these days about my and my Family's future, mostly security for me and my food I will grow. I even think the placement is pretty good for my intent. In military talk, one can call it a static position.

And it was dug in the local woods, which are full of roots. Hence I actually hired a bobcat back hoe to do the work. At age 65, I don't dig fox holes that well.

The second idea is a roving patrol, by the way.

I figure kids can play in it this big hole, if times get hard. Heck, they can play in it anytime, including  good times. It will make a nifty play house, I think. Heck, I was a kid at one time , too.

Now I will put a plastic roof over it to keep the rain and snow out of it as best I can  during bad weather. All this is in spite of the hoped for drainage, too.

And I put some 1/2" limestone gravel ( a tractor bucket load) in the bottom, too; then raked it in to smooth it out.   Even right now I am water-proofing two pallets to help keep me above the maybe coming water fills due to the cold season adverse weather, like rain and snow.  It will be one pallet  on top of the other on top of the gravel.  I assume the drainage may fail. I have done this before, by the way. I even am adding a poor man's turkey  hunter chair on top of it all, typically  uncomfortable, but at least it is a chair.

            Such is this report.
