Antique irons
Well I gave up about a year
or two ago on getting one, that is an antique iron. I assume my ancestors did
away with them for their own reasons.
Since then some
others have begun making replications, reproductions, etc.
I am presently
using cast a iron bacon press (made in TN) to do the same thing. Instead of
just clothes, how about sealing some Mylar bags, too. Now the shape is different, too.
Locally, and
years ago, some Mennonite women shared their idea with me about how to keep
their simple (and homemade) cotton clothes wrinkle free. Basically it was to
let them dry on the clothes line until about 90% dried, and then kick in the
ironing part of the process.
