Weather forecasting during hard times
Next to snake oil and old wives' tales, weather forecasting is right up there, too.

Yet like entertainment, getting weather forecasts is important to most during hard times.
As for me, I divide the problem up two ways. One is after some natural disaster, like a hurricane; and two, is after some kind of general collapse of civilization. That's a different nut to crack, as the old saying  goes. After some natural disaster, one can probably use a disaster radio to receive weather forecasts that they trust. After some general collapse of civilization, then things get more dicey.
Here's some thoughts that may benefit you where you live. They mostly reflect what I intend to do where I live.
In almost all cases, I would designate someone to keep up the daily weather forecast on a dry erase board that all can get to and read. I have such a board and writing things ready just in case.
            Then there are various Plans.
Plan A.  Designate someone to use a radio to find a reliable source of weather forecasts. (Along the way they will also probably also find good sources of information and entertainment.)
Plan B.  Look out the window, and use one's eyeballs to guess the weather. Perhaps use other input, too, like barometers, either manual or electronic. Now how to long term power the electronic widgets is another problem. And if times get really hard, then someone to assign priorities will have to exist, like what is most important and less important.
Plan C.  Read all the various weather references you can find. Right now the Internet provides many good sources. There are also books. No one expects one to become a weather professional out of all this.
Plan D. Use some local reference who is good at forecasting and use them. One may have to use barter to get such a service.
Plan E. Some or all of the other Plans.
My bottom line.  Most people want a good reliable weather forecast, daily. The reasons are many.
