One old timer's thoughts

Mostly happiness is good health and self-respect.
Not all are happy, for many reasons.
My experience is that those Families who suffer the death of a child, like from cancer of some kind, often get divorced.
Even in my 6th grade I suffered the loss of a male friend from leukemia. So I suffered, too. Now at the time I thought his sister did not suffer so much. Now I am not so sure.

Diet and exercise and moderation sure help. Like give yourself credit for chasing kids around, checking the water RAM, home schooling kids, splitting wood, traveling, or whatever. It is all domestic kind of exercise. Said another way, one does not have to pay to get exercise in America. Now for those that do, fine.
We are all gonna die, sometime. What's the old joke, taxes and death are inevitable.
And if hard times should occur, we surely will get plenty of exercise.
If old timers can help with kids and Family, that can be a big deal, like motivational for them. Heck it might even keep them around longer, plus even save some money. Other cultures already know this.
So if times get hard, forget resentment or bitterness, and be thankful for what we of all ages in the new world USA do have, which is a lot, if you buy these old timer's thoughts.
Sure, all of us wish, usually, that things were better for us. But in the same vein, I am thank full for what I do have. And what I do have is OK, speaking as an old guy and a Marine.
Let me say it another way. Like my ancestors, I will work to improve things, as best I can, and in my time, and to help my Family's future success and happiness. Now this could be a political statement, but it really is a more live and let live idea, with some religion thrown in to, like the Golden Rule.
            End of sermon.
