What's wrong with hiring competent people?

The alternative is hiring incompetent people.

Now I understand the need, or at least the belief there is a need, to hire people both to address past policies, and even promote large groups like women who have so often been excluded in the past.

But I also understand the need to hire and promote competent, and I dare add moral people, to best ensure good policies and practices are achieved, or at least attempted. After all, not all good ideas and intentions succeed all the time.

And I believe we have plenty of good competent choices, appointments, promotions, whatever logic one chooses to use to having people to do the Nation's work.

What prompts this post is that it appears to me, said another way I sense, we are allowing our County and culture to become more like a high school clique that has other objectives than our Country's benefits. Now that is our benefits, too.
