A Homeowners Guide to Fertilizer

A Homeowners Guide to Fertilizer

Posters comments:

1)       Where I live in east Tennessee with mostly and historically acidic soil, using fertilizer benefited me. I live on top of the Cumberland Plateau.

2)      I used around a ton of pelletized lime and a ton of 19-19-19 fertilizer on a big yard, and low and behold wild violets popped up in response during the springtime. It was a pretty picture to me.  The seeds had been dormant in the soil for decades, I guess.

3)      Before the European immigrants came here were the modern Indians, mostly Cherokee by present day reports.   Now they did have gardens in this acidic type soil, so garden things will grow here, though somewhat diminished in my opinion.

4)      I even have an old style grubbing hoe made out of limestone as one piece of evidence that works for me.
