The soup kitchen dilemma

The soup kitchen dilemma

Make up your own mind.  I have about what I will try do.

I am not very religious, but I do believe in the Golden Rule, and actually try practice it as best I can. And every day I try practice this idea, to boot.

So will I try to have a soup kitchen where I live in east Tennessee to try help feed people if the present world comes to some kind of temporary end or hard times, or do I just try contribute to another local soup kitchen which surely will arise in such circumstances?  They may be better organized, but do need food supplies after all.  It will probably take communities all around the world to survive as well as go forward, including right here in the new world USA where I presently live in Putnam County, Tennessee.

Now one reason not to have a soup kitchen where I live is that bad people will also come to both get free food, and then “case” me out. I anticipate that, by the way. And casing me out is often pretty blatant, like try rob and steal from me later.  My anticipation is already well planned as a Marine, by the way.  Trying to help people can be difficult, at best. But I can also defend OK, too. I am willing to shoot people, by the way, if I have to. My intent is to wound them, but I can miss sometimes, too.

And don’t forget the wildlife that gets hungry, too. Rabbits just love to eat fresh green leaves, by the way. Like my garden leaves.

Also in my case I have an overflow area separate from where I live in order to help both the local soup kitchen to try feed them, and provide for my own survival defense where I live (really more for my relatives and friends who may end up here).  Hopefully, this planning never comes to pass, but who knows what lurks in the minds of hungry and desperate people if such times should occur?
