One day of rest
For lack of knowing what to do, we do
what we know. Now that expression has been attributed to many, and I still use
it today in 2013.
In my case there was a military idea
called "Sunday hours". It was a time to take our pack off, and
worship if we wanted to. It also meant stand down time, like no artillery going
boom and disturbing others during their "own time". Heck even at the
Base level in peacetime, one even flew a larger American Flag during Sunday
hours. We even had a ceremony for it.
Now that did not mean lowering
security, like for our opponents to exploit.
Anybody can figure that out.
I even had a coach, who had earlier coached
Swedish Olympic teams, who said we must have one or two days off a week just to
rest and recover. Now this was a sports idea, not some religious or military
idea. And at the time I was big into international sports competition, which is
tough. And I followed his advice, kinda. In other words, I gave my body and
mind some time to recover.
So if times get hard, consider
giving your group time to recharge its batteries, so to speak. And if times
don't get hard, well, it is still a good idea for one to consider where they
live.
