Hope for the New World USA
Embedded is  a recommendation letter for a fellow citizen. I personally hope he decides to try become a Marine Corps officer, but, after all, it is his life to figure out.
First, here's a cleaned up letter to protect the "innocent".

Re:  Andres Piedrahita

Dear Sirs:

I have known Andres Piedrahita since he was born.  Having worked with his grandfather for almost ten years, I have gotten to know Andres well over the years.  Andres is very hard-working, motivated, and talented young man.  When he believes in something, he is very dedicated to the idea. He has always enjoyed working with hands, likes tinkering with things, and knows how to take a project from start to finish.

Not only is Andres a hard worker, equally important is the fact that he is an honest young man with high morals.  He has high expectations, not only of himself, but of those around him.  UTI will find Andres to be a great addition to your close-knit community.

Andres is very excited about becoming a student at Universal Technical Institute. He has talked about nothing else for months.  His family, friends, and I will be sad to say "Goodbye" to him, but we are comforted to know that he will be in good hands when he gets to UTI where he will thrive in a place that provides hands-on learning with high standards for all its students.

Andres will be sorely missed around here, but UTI will be gaining a hard-working, dedicated student in Andres Piedrahita.

Now why his grandfather decided to immigrate to the new world USA, I do not know. But I also believe he (Andres) is part of the solution, however it evolves.
Said another way, if times get hard, I am glad that people like him and his grandfather are around to help shape whatever the new world USA becomes.
Even he may marry my daughter. So be it. It's their world and their future and their Family, after all.
           No wonder I am hopeful.
