Bicycle basics

       Have you ever lived in places where the locals use a lot of bicycles to get around, like even to shop and work?  These places tend to be more level. Said another way, if you live in a hilly area, there are probably not as many bicycles around and used.

            But suppose we humans have to use bicycles more? Then do you know much about them, other than your kids like having bikes to play with and get around. Like can you take care of their bikes, and even do basic repairs, like fix a tube puncture and pump up a tire?

            Or do you know the difference between a Schrader valve (like our cars use) and a Presta valve, a fancy high tech bicycle valve?

            Or have you thought about adult sized bicycles, and even what type and how many you might want. Yep, like in cars, there are different types and choices. I myself think about them as high tech vice low tech. I usually go with low tech, like the most simple.

            Impressing my neighbors is not one of by objectives.

            Last, can you protect your bikes, like secure them both at home and away from your home?
