There
is still much unknown about prions.
Many
humans have heard of prions being associated with Mad Cow disease.
Cooking
can't destroy them as I read the tea leaves.
As
a habit, I try avoid anything that supposedly attracts prions, like brains, and
bones associated with the brain stem, and backbones. Again, much is still not
known about prions, so this can be taken as just being over cautious.
If
the animal doesn't eat contaminated meat, or ground up meat mixed with animal
feed, then the disease is contained.
Most
governments banned mixing the above during the 1990's.
So
those who prefer T-Bone steaks should rest easy in 2013.
