                        We humans made charcoal for our own advantages, obviously.  I even use it today, and many even use it in their own charcoal grills.

                        Since I also live  on a big piece of forested land, I also use traditional hardwood for heat and cooking, too. Softwood, like pine and hemlock, is least preferable.

                        But it all makes charcoal, in the end.

                        Heck, even mix wood, charcoal, and even coal, if you can, and choose to do.
