Just a lament
Back in the late 1800's some mostly British
and Russian diplomats divided up the Caucus area of our world.
Well today I lament that they did
not create a nation for the Kurds, the Pashtuns, and the Baluchis. Today the Kurds have people in parts of
Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. The Pashtuns are heavy in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Baluchis are prevalent in parts of Iran and Pakistan.
Of course these diplomats and rulers
at the time are long dead, but we humans today are still fighting over this
area. Even Alexander the Great recognized much of this when he invaded this
part of the world.
For example, have you ever heard of
the Durand Line, and the probable main reason it was drawn up on a paper map.
Now
I think I understand why our USA State Department supports the present day
boundaries created by these now dead diplomats.
Unfortunately, a lot of the affected people in these areas don't support
these boundaries over a century later.
