besides just throwing it away.

Now if you are worried about germs and getting people sick (most of us
are), consider just pouring it over dry dog food. Now dogs have shorter gullets
(than humans) and higher acid content to kill germs, so they will be OK. Plus
you can do the look and smell test for it, too.
