Pumped-storage hydroelectricity

Pumped-storage hydroelectricity

A wiki link on the subject can be found at:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumped-storage_hydroelectricity

There is such a project around 100 miles from here. One could put the Statue of Liberty in the input/output sieve. It is usually filled up overnight using a nearby nuclear reactor which runs best 24/7/365 to power the pumps. The nearby Tennessee River is used as a source of water. Then the next day the "stored" hydro power is used to provide electricity for the usual higher demands when we wake up, and then later come home from work. It's all part of the regional TVA system.
