The next shoe to drop
All this post was prompted by a
doctor's visit today, and his question to me.
It, the shoe falling or dropping , may
be sooner than many think. Like even in year 2013. Many think so. I myself
think it will be more like 2014.
It will be when inflation gets so
bad people won't loan the USA federal government money, and we actually have to
pay our way then . And our tax income at all levels, federal, state, and local,
is pretty good these days. Then politicians will have to do their old fashioned
job, like fight over how to divide up the pie. Said another way, decide priorities,
and respond to their voters. Also along the way, promote the common good.
And by the way, inflation is its own
evil, too, as to its impact on most citizens. Been there, done that. Soon I expect millions more will get to learn
what it means to them these days. Most will not be happy, as in suffering and
sacrificing.
Another fear is that our present federal
president is a lightweight, and has hired fellow lightweights to rule our vast
USA country. So who knows what they will react to, and how they will react.
Now real leadership is acting, not
reacting. Some might say being proactive, vice active.
Anyway, forecasting, really
guessing, is fun, even if the forecast is not good, including to me. And my
forecast I gave over five years ago still applies, and now I guess we get to
suffer the consequences if and when the next shoe drops.
And if this happens, I still think
living in the new world USA is not a bad place to be. Said another way, there
are worse places to be.
Even after all the effects of World
War II on humanity, we humans still had the USA to help sponsor a recovery from
all its devastations. And we did well,
in my opinion. But the Soviet Union,
really the Russians, did OK, too, though another way. Basically, they were
ruthlessly oppressive, like in the old fashioned way of the victors take
spoils, rape women, etc. But suppose the whole world is devastated? I can
imagine the recovery will take a longer time. And along the way I imagine the
last century of socialist/progressive ideas will fade as we move to a better
way to do things.
And no wonder we humans are still dominant
on this earth. Our ingenuity, willingness to suffer, and willingness to change,
sure does make a difference if the other shoe falls, and if it even falls, and
when it might drop.
