Practical things to do to change our American culture
It's simpler than one may think, if we want to do it.
First is to promote marriage, period. The idea is that two parents are better than one when raising our children. Most already know that. Now promoting marriage can be by laws, public policies like tax advantages to being married, or Mom and Dad just teaching values at home that promote marriage. The intent is to have two parents at home when raising American children. A secondary intent could be to reintroduce the idea of shame, like getting pregnant and not being married is a bad way to go.
Second is to promote education, like skills based education that provides skills for our children to succeed in their lifetimes. All this indoctrination stuff is screwing our kids over, in my mind.  The intent is just to teach them the basics, like how to read and write, add and subtract, etc. Along the way, some education in other required skills, like filling out a simple tax form, or fixing a toilet, or balancing a check book is the kind of skill to help these young people. A few cooking skills would help, too. And many of these things can be taught in school, or at home. The at home stuff should include things like morals, values, cooking, fixing things, etc.
Then just sit back and watch and see what happens.
I suspect our children will be happier, and better prepared for whatever future they face. And I think many of our present day culture problems will change, too. Heck, even later in life they might say thank you, Mom or Dad.
All these things take time, but for sure things will change, if we want them too. And along the way, some leadership sure does help implement these practical ideas, both at home, and even in the public arena.
