P.S. I failed in storing store-bought potatoes last
season. In my estimation, the cool dark room I stored them in just was not cool
enough. Hence the idea of a potato
cellar to better retard the usual growth of the potato tubers, like to be able
to eat them during the cold season.
P.P.S. The
garden growing potatoes did grow quite well . I grew them above ground in a big
farm type tire with local leaves (mulch size) and Miracle Grow, and the output
was much more than I originally planted, which were the traditional potato
pieces with an "eye" in them. Now here locally we did have a moist
summer, plus I watered them as I thought necessary.
