Booby trap

Booby trap

A wiki link on the subject can be found at:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booby_trap

Much has been made of IED's, which are deadly booby traps that often work.

Well, about anybody can make booby traps, if they have to, or choose to.

Much has been made in the recent past also about Princess Diana (when she was alive) being against the use of mines, and she had some valid points. Even many old mines in the desert battlefields in Egypt (from WWII) are good examples.

But booby traps and, mines, etc, often save a lot of lives, too. Keep that in mind, too.

To this old Marine, it is often a matter of good record keeping, also. After all, mines, too, should be "cleaned" up later, usually to prevent the hideous things they do  when the battles are over and when not "cleaned" up.

Even most battlefields often still have war stuff still in the ground. People in the USA are still digging up cannonballs from the Civil War (1860 time frame), for example. Even people in Okinawa and Berlin and London are still digging up old bombs from the battles there (WWII time frame); sometimes even in present school house or housing areas. So, bottom line, not everything  that happens can be recorded or even known, which is just the way it is.
