White pines where I live in east
Tennessee
All the "white pines" where
I live are not native, that is they were introduced to make money, mostly.
In my opinion in 2013, they are a
superior tree in the local forest.
Since then, they have gone native, like
do very well up on the Cumberland Plateau. They seem to survive quite well
alongside the other native pine tree here, the Virginia Pine, which tends to
grow well near the many bluff lines along with the Chestnut Oak trees.
