With unilateral disarmament well underway,
this post may be a bit outdated. For
example, when Libya first reared its head, the Navy had one ship in the Med. To
up the number of ships and Marines, the USA had to pull them out of the Afghan
area of operations and transit the Suez canal, to boot.
