Educating our children


Were children smarter a century ago? Test for eighth graders in Kentucky dated 1912 ignites debate over kids' intelligence today

            I, the poster, believes we have been dumbing down the education of our children for decades.  Mostly, we have been increasingly  indoctrinating more than educating during that period. There are only so many hours in the day, and days in the year; and to add so many subjects to our school curriculums has often meant dropping other higher priority subjects, like reading, writing, and arithmetic.

            There is a difference between intelligence, education, and experience. Don't get confused between the three. And dumbing down our children's education has profound implications for our future culture; and the kids happiness as they become adults.
            Last, there won't be a test.
