When the pendulum swings
It sure
appears the pendulum is still swinging as it always has. And it sure looks like
it swings slowly, too.
One can say
the status quo is changing, too.
Obama’s
nomination of Loretta Lynch to be the new Federal Attorney General provides
such as example. Many people think her nomination will fail in the Senate.
Count me as one of them.
Since we
have such poor senior political leadership these days (in my opinion), it is
best up to us, we the people, to better lead our wonderful nation. The idea is called bottom up. And in
fairness, some elected and appointed political leaders are doing a good job,
again in my opinion.
Now a
concern now is how to best lead. Said another way, let’s not let the swing of
the pendulum carry too far the other way in our new policies and practices,
whatever that means. Said even another way, let’s be smarter than what got us
into this mess in the first place. Said even another way, let’s not throw out
the baby with the dirty bath water. We
still have a good baby, and hope for our future, too. So I suggest focusing our
“we the people’s efforts” on cleaning up the dirty bath water. That is a pretty and monumental effort, too.
And the
pendulum swings…..
