Mini Ice Age 2015-2035
Here’s a wiki link on the Little Ice
Age: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age
Here’s one link to an article in the Daily Mail newspaper in England: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2541599/Is-mini-ice-age-way-Scientists-warn-Sun-gone-sleep-say-cause-temperatures-plunge.html
Here’s on link to a “pdf” article on
the subject: http://www.meteo.psu.edu/holocene/public_html/shared/articles/littleiceage.pdf
There are many other links on this
subject, too.
Obviously the Global Warming crowd will
often have another point of view.
I, myself, a Georgia Tech kind of geek,
did my own independent study on this subject a couple of years ago, and I also
confidently predicted (and made some plans for) a long cold spell like is
better predicted in this post. In my study I focused on the effect of the sun
on we humans, which I still believe is dominant (that is the effect of the sun
on the earth).
Those with lots of cold season hunting
clothes or long johns should be in pretty good shape if you buy this argument.
And the closer to the Equator one lives, the better in this scenario. Now reduced growing seasons and lands to grow
food will stress our food supplies in all likelihood, too. Our threats will
probably be from both fellow humans and even wildlife, who will get cold and
hungry, too. But our distant ancestors survived the last mini ice age and so
can we if it even comes to pass. Now it probably will not be a happy time in
many ways, and may last a long time, like for several or more generations. The last mini ice age lasted hundreds of years,
I also believe.
