The value of sports in education

·       You learn a lot about yourself

·       You learn a lot about others, both inside sports and outside of sports

·       Whether your sport is individual or team, you learn a lot that is not taught at home or school

·       You go in harm's way, as the issue is always in doubt

·       Your sport may get you financial assistance in your academic education

·       Your sport may provide travel that exposes you to even more things, to include other cultures, languages, foods, living standards, and values

·       You can apply your sports education and learned skills the rest of your life

·       Sports often provides a lot of time to think about things

·       Concentration is as important as athletic skill

·       How to recover from mistakes is a learned skill that sports can provide

·       It provides you self-confidence

·       You learn to work and live with others in ways not taught at home or school

·       You get exposed in ways that home and school cannot do very well

·       It may make you happier

·       You may learn about being a big fish in a small sea, or being a little fish in a big sea
