We really need to change our catch and release legal system

Soldier hit and dragged 3/4 mile by car

This is off topic for this web site but with Buddy's permission I am going to provide you with a link to the story that happened to my son,
SFC Travis Torgerson, on Sept. 17th while at work.
Travis has been in the Army 19 years, deployed over 7 to Germany, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and twice to Afghanistan without a scratch.
He is now an Army recruiter in Roseville MN and the article will tell you the story.
Travis is married and has two small children.
This one is the event Pioneer Press story:

This is a link to his web site. It contains some more info and a link if you can help he certainly would appreciate it.

He is alive but will need extensive medical care, his leg got caught over the rear axle of the vehicle driven by a career criminal.
Injuries include, broke leg, ankles, heel, tail bone, his butt was ground down to the tail bone, and many other numerous abrasions.
He was awake thru the whole ordeal, this is why he is alive; he pulled himself up by the rear wiper blade of the Jeep.
The bad guy stopped twice, and kicked Travis in the chest, breaking his ribs which is making recovery much more difficult. As well there were very good
citizens who saw what happened and called 911, as well as an emergency room nurse who with her husband was in the mall parking lot where the
recruiting office is located; and they followed the car until Travis freed himself and then they did emergency aid; not more than 30 minutes later he was in the
Hennepin County Medical Center, a level 1 trauma facility. You cannot find Travis there as he is under an alias because the criminal's family was trying
to get to him. The criminal's kid relative is also a registered sex offender; runs in the family.

Upon reviewing the initial criminal complaint by the Roseville MN PD, he has an extensive record of criminal activity as recently as Aug 28th 2013.
Further investigation of the driver revealed that he had over 45 arrests and was still not locked up, with everything from petty stuff to felonies on his record.

We really need to change our catch and release legal system.

Thanks for looking at this.
