V/STOL

V/STOL

            Not that it makes sense to so many, but the world's navies are still building many V/STOL ships (Vertical/Short Take Off and Landing). So the idea still makes sense to some leaders and funders and builders.

            So I figure there is still a market out there for aircraft to place on these ships, and fight from these ships,  for the next half century, at least.

            I can imagine the V/STOL type airplane will be less capable than most land based versions of other airplanes.  And there could be good news, too. Like less initial cost, and less operating cost, and of course less capability.  But still better than nothing. Maybe the capability will cost more...who knows.

            Not all scenarios include another WWII type thing, for example.

            Last, I can imagine someone or some company will build it. The USA seems to have had its chance, so think about other places like Japan, Brazil, and Italy, as examples.
