Leadership
A long wiki link (often kind of geeky) on the subject can be
found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leadership
Very few leaders are born knowing
how to lead naturally. Most of us have to be taught leadership and it's
techniques and various methods that suit our personalities. Of course the
intent of this training is to make us more effective when leading, or at least trying
to lead. And last, the teachers most know about leadership...not the
theory, but more importantly, the
application of successful techniques and methods.
Now there are still teachers such as
this around these days.
Worse case, our seemingly present
cultural priorities of indoctrination vice education of our young people
portends future bad things for all, including the idea of their leadership
training.
So as an example, I am today out
beginning to plow and harrow disc a garden area for 2014 plantings. Now that is not leadership, but it is survival
oriented. Even the soil is not the best, but I have limed and fertilized it
some, which is more than the modern Native Americans could do in their time
around 500 years ago.
But and also, and in my opinion, it
is leadership that will help make things better in our human future on this
earth. Only time will tell how it sorts out, in the end.
