The community is Monterey, Tennessee
The locale is the Hemlocks, a
homestead just outside of Monterey. One can try live off of the land, but
working together in a community has advantages, as in working for our common
good and survival and happiness, including for our children's future. The
basics are already sorted out here. Barter is coming up more and more.
Even the
historical friction between men and women still comes up. But, no wonder we
together are a successful species on the Earth. That friction probably includes
our future, too.
As a nut
case about survival stuff, and having some money to pay for my habit, I
recognize that working together is a big deal. One expression, Gung Ho (working
together) always comes to mind. It
works! It helps a lot I think.
Said another
way, we humans must work together has best we can. Of course this idea is
thinking about if things go south, so to
speak, but really it can work for present day principles, too. Think about your community.
Last, I
wonder how well we humans might do during hard times. One example is houses
against the weather that are leaky, like it can be real cold inside during the
cold season. I suspect we humans will do pretty well, though it will be hard
times.
Been there,
done that, so to speak.
