You too can make a difference where
you live
Here's some USA emails to suggest there are other ways to
go.....if we want to:
So far, no.
In a small community like Monterey, people such as Dale Welch (who
did the weekly paper) are a wealth of hard work, initiative, and even a lot of
local history. He has helped me out a lot on history questions, for example.
There was one such other person I know about around 100 miles away
in Tellico Plains, by the way.
So I might guess that even Beaufort, with Hilton Head nearby, is
just different. Whether that is better or not, is up to you all to decide.

I hate to hear that...was always a pretty good paper. I wonder if
anyone will take it over?

Yep, the Hill Express is full of them.
Tell Sarah to look quick. The guy who ran the paper is dying of
old age, and the paper is about gone.
He’s got some kind of weird disease (probably inherited) that is
doing him in. Even the local Cup and Saucer people routinely cook for him, and
drive him around some, too.

Sara was 1 point away from having an "A" in GT Language
Arts. She asked her teacher what she could do for extra credit. Her
teacher said she could search for misspelled works in newspapers, magazines,
etc.. After searching for a bit and no luck, I told her to check the
Hilltop Express on-line. She found quite a few and turned them in....and
now has an"A"!
