Poster's comments:

1) What happens if the executive or some court won't enforce a subpoena? What happens if they use the delay/postpone/appeal  method?

2) What happens if the police won't enforce a subpoena?

3) I think the "fear" is that the executive or courts won't enforce an issued subpoena in the end.

4) My logic train is to then impeach those that won't enforce the law. After all, they did take an oath to do so (usually signatures are required, too). Then, and worse case, the voters replace those who won't impeach (or fire or demote) as necessary. And then, again worse case, if the voters are ignored, then it is time for torches and pitch forks in the streets.

5)  The "rule of law" is still a good equalizer for all of us.

6)  Rather than "fear", which is also a judgment call of sorts,  I believe it is time to resolve all this, or change our government method and see what the consequences are. Yep, it will be painful, and often embarrassing, too. And it will probably take years. So be it.

7) A suspect a lot of present leaders think this way. Hence don't have a "clean sweep" of Congress, for example. Rather vote to retain those that represent us, and also vote to replace those who do not represent us. The rest of the friction will sort out, one way or the other.

8) Call it a "soft" revolution, if you choose. And in fairness, some revolutions fail for good and bad reasons.

9) One has to start sometime.

10) And all this just to enforce a subpoena.
