Making more targets
Being an
American Marine, I think I know something about guns, like rifles and pistols.
Mostly my knowledge is through training, and a ruthless enforcement of safety
and security, too. For example, I had to requalify annually on the rifle and
pistol. The first week was “dry fire”
mostly to train up and save money, too. The second week was “live fire” with
the last day being “for the record” of my rifle requalification that year.
Pistol requalification “for the record” usually occurred the day before, like
on Thursday. Then and only then I could
go fight for my Country.
And if one
can reasonably expect to use their weapon in the next year in combat, then an
additional step of aligning the sights with the bullet aim is also done. That’s
just part of being an American Marine.
So I was
mostly amused when I read a story today about some MIT students arming
themselves for their own idealogy.
Sounds so faddish, which I suspect it was, but I don’t really know for
sure. Real use of weapons, and gun control in general, is more complicated than
what they were doing at the time.
Americans
count on it, too.
