1)  The example of Jonestown in Guyana is similar to typical human behavior, like high school cliques,  a stock market crash, or a human stampede of any kind.

2) Murder and mass death will often result.

3) Global warming is another such example.

4)  Even many scientists motivated by government funding for their projects will be influenced to become a "barking seal".

5)  Politicians ought to stick to politics, and leave science to those more knowledgeable.

6) Religious leaders ought to stick to religion. Lord knows we humans have enough religious problems to worry about.

7)  Charlatans have been around forever, including these days.
