Bottom up versus top down

Bottom up versus top down

Bottom up in anything usually implies initiative and good ideas bubbling up from below.

Top down in anything usually implies initiative and good ideas starting at the top and  dribbling  down.

For the common good in most things political and business, the better course of action is the top down approach.  But that method requires educated and moral leaders who are competent to succeed in the long run.  They don't have to be right all the time, but being respected and experienced does provide them major advantages.

Many people are necessarily worried that in the new world USA that Obama and his hired minions and the Democratic National Party don't have what it takes for a successful top down management method. Rather the worry seems to be fear "the people" and their Families are going to suffer forever, or at least a very long time, as a result. Right or wrong, that is what I think many people are worried about.

Now the good news. There is hope. It is called the bottom up method. And it already seems to be happening in so many ways, and slowly but surely.

One can imagine a new third political party arising, for example. It will be made up of former Republicans, Democrats, Independents,  Americans all. I can imagine all generations being included, too.

And for those that worry that much of the changes and damages the present group in political  power imprint may be irreversible in the USA society, in the end they cannot keep a group of people down; and that is where the bottom up approach will probably be the way it happens. Think in terms of decades and not years, since all change, even corrections, does take time to happen throughout a society as big as the new world USA.

And old dinosaurs don't go down easily, either. There will be push back.

So are many in the new world USA going to suffer through hard times, maybe? There's no way around that most think, and many also buy that argument.

But are all those adversely affected going to have a better future for their Families, probably.  The big question is when?

The secondary questions are how and how long?  The answers will take the hindsight of history, and the patience and time to observe and write about it even as Families prosper throughout this great land known as the USA.

Most are generally tired of pointing out the obvious hypocrisies and consequences of the failures of top down, and even the decline and coming end of the Progressive Era. So be it.

Rather most can also be optimistic about the benefits that the bottom up method will provide.

And in the end, and over decades, it will probably be some combination of both methods that works out best in the new world USA. Only time will. Our children will count on their own opportunities when they "fly the nest" and seek their own fortunes in life.
