BOUNCE-DOWN ON THE
SURFACE OF A COMET
ESA's
Rosetta spacecraft dropped its lander, Philae, onto the surface of Comet 67P
yesterday. Because the lander's harpoons did not latch onto the comet's
surface, however, there is a good chance that Philae bounced before settling
down. ESA plans to issue an update with pictures early Thursday, Nov. 13th.
