What does satellite imaging 'resolution' mean?
There are many other links
on this subject, too. Plus a lot of overhead imagery is not by satellite, but
more common and better means like airplane photos. Now it does take a
“computer” to “mosaic” all these photos, but even that is routine these days.
Now as to “resolution” for
most of us, around a 2 meter resolution is usually good enough to know where we
are on the earth. Now surveyors often work at even more detail (and get paid
for it), but one should even go to school to learn about that.
