When will they ever learn?
Here
we go again
Today we
have another group in political power who want to solve today's problems in
their own way using their own logic applied to today's circumstances. Now
that's fine with me until thousands or millions get to die for their mistake of
using appeasement as a major tool in their bag of tricks.
How many
times do earlier leaders like McNamara get to apologize on American TV for their
own mistakes of their past. Sure, the apology, if even sincere, seems to ignore
the thousands of young people already in their graves because of these kinds of
"mistakes" or just plain inexperience with the simple forces of human
nature that the majority already understands.
Appeasement
usually leads to war on an advanced time table. Often this acceleration is by
others and not even by the leaders practicing appeasement. Appeasement is often preceded
by unilateral disarmament which in hindsight has even taken away the military
option as a way to give diplomacy a chance. This is just basic school learning.
It is not rocket science.
When will
they ever learn?
The phrase "when
will they ever learn" is taken from a Pete Seeger song he wrote circa 1955
as an anti-war song, by the way. The basic song is entitled "Where have
all the flowers gone?"
