If something doesn't sound right, it often isn't

If something doesn't sound right, it often isn't

What are we citizens to do if we lose trust, faith, and confidence in our federal leaders and their hired minions? And what are we to do if media types tell us to accept 80% functionality as good enough? For me 100% is the minimum in rules and conduct and results if our rulers are going to impose their ideology on me and my Family and friends. And what I am I to do if my political opponents try "steal" elections as best they can?

The practical implications are pretty simple to me. Mostly it means many of my loved ones (and maybe me) may die early and often miserably (compared to the present). Now that gets my attention. I'm thinking about Obamacare, but really it could be about anything, like a nuclear war in the Middle East as an example. Or how about some mother nature event impacting our future prospects as another example. Or how about dealing with the present day despots around the world, as a last yet another example? Said even another way, 100% is the minimum requirement to this old Marine, and until that level can be achieved, try again. The goal of universal health care is a wonderful goal, after all. But there are a few other things going on that I care about, too.

The way it seems to me these days, we have a crummy Federal President who has hired often crummy minions who collectively are screwing up a lot of things in the USA, both domestic and foreign.  And our elected Senate approved some of them, too. Now I am not inclined to go along with the results, especially when I sense many of these people are even using lying and propaganda as a way to impose their ideology on the rest of us, as well as to hurt me and my Family and friends as a practical effect. Plus our present federal President seems to rule on the fly, or so it seems to me.

So at age 65, I have been reduced to growing some food and making some electricity as my worse case planning for me and my Family's  future in the USA (probably for a year up to ten years). And it appears to me mostly that I think this way because  of an individual who comes across as a crummy President who is trying to solve yesterday's problems back when he was in his school period of his life. Said another way, I am not volunteering to be a serf, and I don't think royalty with an appointed court is a good way to rule any country. After all, that idea was tried and failed going back centuries ago.

So something doesn't sound right to me these days.

Our human capacity to suffer is admirable. So is our American spirit to trust our elected leaders and our bureaucrats. But something else going on is just not right these days.
