One Hemlocks story

One Hemlocks story

Never make your mother mad at you at any age. Life is not fair, either. It is pretty much the same principle to me.

Circa the 1980’s we were just playing a board game called “Scrabble” and my mother played a high value word, with a triple score.

Now being a ramblin’ wreck from Georgia Tech I challenged her, knowing the word she played was probably an English word in that time period, but I also knew the reference dictionary we used at the time was like from 1928, and that word might not have existed in that time.

And sure enough, I was right, like it was not a word so I made my mother take her played word off the board and appropriately subtract her points, too.

That’s when things got ugly to me. I don’t care to repeat what she said, but in summary it was not “too” friendly. Some would even say it was not ”very motherly”.
