Dumplings

Dumplings

Here are some ideas and recipes you may enjoy reading about:

As always there are many more links on this subject, too.

Poster’s comments:
1)      Wrap about any local food with a dumpling skin, and you may have concocted a nice meal for your Family and loved ones. Then you can even make up a name for the meal you made. Embellish it with a story if you choose. And always remember presentation, to include the use of spices.
2)      We humans do have to eat in order to live.
3)      Dumpling skins are a food source in their own right, too. One can boil them, steam them, or even fry them. And if electricity is out (or even gone to a rolling blackout system), then cook them with some other means of making heat, like a wood stove or a simple fire.
4)      Making dumpling skins is something we all can do, if we have to. Admittedly, it is a pain in the tail to do. Mostly it takes time, but for sure it is not “rocket science”.
5)      Part of any meal is sitting around a table and talking amongst ourselves. Sometimes guiding the discussion, even sparking it, is a good idea.
6)      Save it, like keep it warm as best you can. Anything warm to be served at the end of a security “watch” is always good for that person’s morale. Something as simple as a simple Ramen soup with noodles at 0300 is often a good deal to those coming off patrol, too.
