Wear and tear on an older body

Wear and tear on an older body

This is one subject worth thinking about ahead of time.
Is your body probably going to age and even get injured along the way. Most likely it will get injured sometime, and most certainly will age.
Then what do you do? As always it depends on your situation at the time.
Conventional wisdom is to try avoid surgery when you can. Surgery always carries risk and is no guarantee of a fix to whatever ails you.
Of course Plan B is to submit to surgery, and hope for the best, which often does occur, or at least some improvement often occurs.
And another conventional wisdom is just to admit the obvious, like you got injured and will have to live with the results, like it or not. In hard times that may be all you can hope for.
And one last thing to think about ahead of time is what are your alternatives to aging and injury. For injury, some rest or backing off for a while might help, again depending on the situation. For aging and debilitating injuries, there are many tasks best taken up by affected people, anyway.  Of course some societies use their aged and permanently injured people more than others, but then some societies are more successful than other societies, too.
