Time to start stocking up some more

Mostly that means beans, bullets, and band aids.

Having just watched the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech to a Joint Session of our USA Congress I still wonder as to what was not said.

Mostly it was the Nation-State idea, which Iran appears to be driving a railroad size train through these days. Even Colin Powell, as the USA Secretary of State, said the idea of a Nation-State was inviolate.  Yet the idea comes from European Colonialism in times past. One can call this idea his status quo. It has useful purposes, after all. One can even argue the Iranian leaders, and Iran, a relatively small Country, are cloaking themselves in this idea in order to advance their cause and their religious beliefs, including at the United Nations. And they seem to be protected from their adversaries by this idea.

So is there a better way to rule than the Nation-State idea, which was administrative in nature at the time a century ago? Before then this idea of ruling did not even exist, in my opinion, again.

The other thing not mentioned in the “Speech” was what do we expect the other Persian Gulf States to do, as if the USA and Europe are the be all and end all of their futures for themselves and their children. Said another way, they can and will influence their own actions and fate, and expect some nuclear proliferation to result. Worse case some use of nukes may happen, too.  Add in the often unpredictable effects of weather, and we have another "witches brew" to anticipate.

So are we willing to “fight” for our cause and beliefs. I think so.  Now will we fight for our causes and beliefs, I am not so sure. Maybe we will just surrender to a smaller and more vociferous Nation-State, and even if it is Iran, suddenly begin converting in mass numbers to Islam, or die in the process.

Last, nobody I know denies Iran, whose peoples were European in original origin, to not be a good and proud nation, to include one which possesses nuclear weapons.  But we can impose our USA ideas of no nuclear weapons and use when such religious zealots still have great political power in this small nation. That is how important nuclear weapon use can be. Now that idea is worth fighting for, in my humble opinion.

So what will we do if Israel gets nuked by Iran?  So what will others do, too?

And for closer to home, what are you going to do?  Like impose a forcible military draft? Or start a war bond drive vice trying to borrow more money?
