The world does not revolve around Washington, DC

And that is both the new world USA and the entire World.

As one who both grew up and also worked around DC,  I know it is an important center of government, finance, and media. But as one who has also traveled and lived outside of DC, I also know the world is much bigger than DC. I myself enjoyed reading the various newspapers around the country and world, and what was important in DC was not as important elsewhere, for example in Oklahoma, or California, or Japan.

Even I once worked for a white collar worker setting up a world-wide tour to tout all the good things he was doing in DC. And they were good things that affected a lot of people.  I was included as a token blue collar worker, probably as an afterthought. But low and behold, 90% of the questions around the world were blue collar type questions, and my presence made a difference in answering the questions.

Now we new world USA citizens have the latest bunch in DC trying to imprint their way of thinking and ruling on the rest of us. This too will pass, as has always happened so far. Now much change will probably come, including things like new political parties arising to better reflect the whole new world USA and the people who live, work, and raise their Families here.

The probable turmoil that will come out of this change in our status quo is probably inevitable. But for sure, the world does not revolve around Washington, DC.

I am reminded of one famous saying from Gandhi I will try to paraphrase. It went something like a big country like India cannot be ruled by a small group of Englishmen if it doesn't want to be.
